Hey authors, did you know I now offer manuscript assessments? If you’re not sure what that involves or how it’s different to a structural edit, I’m breaking it down* in this post. 👆

The TL;DR: a manuscript assessment is basically a mini version of a structural edit. It highlights the top areas of your novel to address in a shorter editorial report, and it’s a great option if you want clear direction on what to focus on in your next draft. Plus, it’s cheaper, so it’s a good alternative to full structural editing if you’re on a budget.

Something both types of edit have in common? Your story will live ✨rent free✨ in my brain the entire time I’m working on it (and for a bit afterwards too, if I’m honest!) All-consuming, yes, but I think it’s this deep engagement with your work that makes structural editing so valuable.
